Bronco Division

The 2006 OYA Bronco season came to an end on June 29, 2006 at Centennial 3 with the Orioles being crowned CHAMPIONS! The Orioles defeated the Pirates by a score of 10-0 to claim the crown. The game was close with the Orioles clinging to a 2 run lead in the 5th inning before extending the lead for good. The Orioles pitching dominated the game with Connolly and Lawrence leading the way as they did much of the season. Congratulations again to the AL Champs and World Series Champs who went undefeated in the regular season as well as the postseason!
The American League regular season finished up in the following order:
Orioles, Angels, Rangers, White Sox, Red Sox, Twins, Indians, Royals, A's, Mariners, and Yankees.
The Orioles, White Sox, Indians, and Rangers made it to the final four with the Orioles and Rangers playing in the AL final. Ealry on in the playoffs, the Royals gave the O's a scare as the O's won a nail biter 6-5. The Angels who finished with the overall number 2 seed were knocked out early by the surging Indians behind the pitching of Matt Veldman. The Rangers ended up losing to the Braves in the Consolation Game.
The National League regular season finished up in the following order:
Marlins, Pirates, Rockies, Braves, Cubs, Reds, Dodgers, Brewers, Astros, Cardinals, Giants, Nationals.
The Marlins, Braves, Rockies, and Cubs made it to the final four with the Braves and Pirates battling it out for the NL title. The Braves knocked the number 1 seed Marlins out of the tournament with a gutsy pitching performance by Swiontek, Tinoco, and Hacker. The Braves went on to lose to the Pirates who have one of the top pitchers in the league in Victor Walano.
The trophies went as follows:
1st Place - Orioles
2nd Place - Pirates
3rd Place - Braves
4th Place - Rangers
It was a fun year despite all of the rain. The Championship game even had to be made up as it was postponed originally due to lightning. 2006 will be remembered as the year of the ORIOLES!
