The A's took first place in the American League of the Mustang Division with an overall record of 17-3. They fell just short to the Dodgers in the World Series 7-6 in an exciting game that went down to the wire. The A's were led all year behind strong pitching by Danny Dziadkowiew, Shane Gipson and Colin Collery, with Stevie Wirtel and Cody Gestes proving to be among the top 9 yr olds in the league! In addition to the strong pitching staff, the A's produced some timely hitting to surge through the playoffs, beating the Indians, Rangers and topping the White Sox in one of the most exciting comebacks seen this year. With 1 out and nobody on, the A's strung together a walk, hit batter, and a triple by Gipson to cut the lead to 3-2. After an intentional walk to Dziadkowiew, Colin Collery delivered his smash up the middle for the game winner to send the A's to the World Series.Once again proving, there is nothing more excit ing than OYA baseball!

The Dodgers started off the 2007 season with most of our kids returning from last year.  WE wanted to keep this team together, because we knew how much potential they all had and what a bunch of great kids they were.  We only lost 3 games this year and they were all by one run, proving that it wasn't easy.  We were in first place for most of the year until our last game of the regular season.
We told our kids that in the playoffs it doesn't matter who was in first, it's like a fresh start on the way to the World Series.  In the playoffs and the World Series we were always down, but we always found a way to come back.  We did this many times throughout the year, so we names the team the Comeback Dodgers.  This group of kids would get down but they never gave up and it showed by our record.  These kids will have the memory of this year forever.  Everytiume they see each other in the future they'll always have that bond and memory of the year the Dodgers won the World Series.
I would like to thank my partner Coach Bill for all his hard work and friendship and Coach Ed who we could never keep up the scores without.  I'd also like to thank the parents for having such great kids to work with.
Thanks for a great year!  Coach Rob
