SPRING BASEBALL -
Signups in December/January, Practices April, Games May-June. Usually 2 games per week, weekdays after 6pm and Sat am or early afternoon. Birth certificates are required, birthdates are enforced for level of play. Pony Rules state no playing up.
Shetland - Ages 5 and 6. Coach pitch with a soft center ball. 50' bases. Our hope is to provide the structure to these young ballplayers and create good muscle memory by teaching proper fundamentals and technique. Game are played at the Orland Parks.
Maverick - This division is for advanced 6 year olds and 7 year olds still developing their skills. At this age, we will introduce kid pitching after 3 weeks into the season. There will be a NO WALK rule meaning the coach will pitch to the batter once the pitcher throws 4 balls. This division will also use a soft center ball to minimize the risk of injury. The season will be around 13 to 15 games. 38' pitching mound and 55' bases.
Pinto - Pinto is for the advanced 7 year old and typical 8 year old player using the May 1st cut off. The ball at this age will be an official baseball, not a soft center putting an emphasis on the more advanced players only. Please make sure that your child can now protect himself and has been affiliated with organized baseball before choosing this division. The season will be 16 games or so and will feature the option of July All Star play for those interested in try-outs. Pinto is still for developing our young ballplayers and reinforcing sound fundamentals, so while scores are kept there are no playoffs or standings kept. The July All Stars will be the 1st opportunity of playing games that provide emphasis on the final score. The pitching mound here will be 40 feet. 10 players defensively, no stealing, no walk rule (coach pitch after 4 balls). 50' bases.
Mustang - Ages 9 and 10 based on a May 1 cutoff date. Stealing is allowed but no lead offs. This is the 1st age that actually keeps standings and conducts play-offs. In this division, we play 60 foot bases and a 44 foot pitching mound distance. July All Star teams are formed.
Bronco - Ages 11 and 12 based on May 1 cutoff date. Between 12 and 20 teams are formed. This level adds full stealing and balk rules, and dropped third strike rule. 70' bases.
Pony - Ages 13 and 14 based on a May 1 cutoff date. Between 12 and 16 teams are formed. Full baseball rules apply. 80' bases.
Colt - Ages 15 , 16 and 17. Actually if you are in HS you can play in the Colt Division- Date of births 9/1/92 thru 4/30/1995. 8 teams will be formed. You can still play Summer Colt/Palomino.
SUMMER COLT/PALOMINO BASEBALL - Ages 14U to 20U It is never too late to try baseball! This league consists of all level of players, distributed evenly. Usually 12 teams are formed. 90' bases. Signups in May, games July-August.

Games Start: Monday after July 4th ... July 6th ... three game per week

GRADE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL
- Leagues in basketball are by grade level. Teams are formed through a draft by the coaches for 3rd thru 8th grades. Registration takes place in September. Teams are formed in early November. Practices are held in the month of November, and games are played from December thru March.
3rd grade - We typically form 12-14 teams. Games are normally played twice a week on weeknights at 6pm or 7pm. Teams focus on learning the fundamentals of the game.
4th grade - We typically form 12-14 teams. Games are normally played twice a week on weeknights at 6pm, 7pm. Some 8pm games are held on Friday nights. Teams continue to develop their fundamental skills, however at this level we begin to keep team standings.
5th grade - We typically form up to 12 teams. Games are normally played twice a week on weeknights at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm. We will have some games on the weekends this year. Standings are kept and the season ends with a round of playoffs. Games are usually help at High Point School and Prairie School.
6th grade - We typically form up to 12 teams. Games will be played on weeknights and weekends and the season ends with a round of playoffs.
7th grade - We typically form up to 12 teams. Games are played a couple of times a week, usually on weeknights at Junior High large gyms, and sometimes on weekends at Sportsplex. The season ends with a round of playoffs. Games are usually played on weeknights at 6pm, 7pm, or 8pm.
8th grade - We typically form up to 12 teams. Games are played about twice a week, on weeknights at the Junior High large gyms, and at Sportplex on weeknights and weekends. Weeknight games are at 7pm, 8pm, or 9pm.
HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL - There are 2 leagues for High School Basketball-Fr/Soph and Jr/Sr. Registration for High School Basketball takes place Nov/Dec. Games are played January through the beginning of March, followed by a round of playoffs.
Frosh/Soph - Typically between 12 and 16 teams are formed. Games are played two or three times a week, on weeknights at Sportsplex or Sandburg High School, at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, or 9pm. Weekend games are also held at Sportsplex.
Junior/Senior - Typically between 10 and 14 teams are formed. Games are played two or three times a week, on weeknights at Sportsplex or Sandburg High School, at 6pm, 7pm, 8pm, or 9pm. Weekend games are also help at Sportsplex.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL - Signups are held in August, and the program runs late-September through early-November. Practices and Games are held on Wednesdays and Fridays at Orland Junior High or at Sportsplex. The season ends with a round of playoffs.
4th/5th/6th grade - This league typically forms 4-6 teams, and games are held at 6pm or 7pm on Wednesday and Friday nights.
7th/8th/Frosh - This league typically forms 4-6 teams, and games are held at 8pm or 9pm on Wednesday and Friday nights.
BOYS FALL BASEBALL - This program holds signups in July thru Mid August, with practices the last week of August, followed by games from September through mid-October. The season ends with a round of playoffs in mid-October. About three games are played per week. Sometimes there are double-headers on weekends. The Fall Baseball program typically consists of more aggressive players who cannot get enough baseball in the Spring. If you are new to baseball, consider playing in the Spring before you try Fall Ball.
3rd/4th Grade - Usually about 4 to 8 teams are formed, and games are played on weeknights at 6pm or on Saturdays.
